The definition of a power broker is a person or entity that uses or abuses its power or resources to gain more power. 

Power brokers are, as a rule, very destructive to civilizations and the people who live within them.  The reason for this is that their goal is to satisfy their desire to gain power.  They have little if any desire to understand how their competition for power negatively impacts many other lives.  They generally cause great problems, devastation, and victimization.

While every person can be considered to some degree to be a power broker.  It is those with the power to manipulate cities, states and nations who can best carry the designation of power broker. 

There are rarely ever any good power brokers.  Although there are a few power brokers who have chosen to use their power for the betterment of their people or better yet, all humanity.  The vast majority of power brokers are only concerned with acquiring more power so that they can acquire more resources, so that they may satisfy their varied addictions, which brings us back to one of their primary addictions, to acquire more power.

Power brokers can be considered the most addicted people on earth.  Their addictions are almost always very destructive to themselves, their personal relationships, and to anyone who is affected by their power struggles, competition for power.

Power brokers are most ofter psychopaths.  They do not adequately see or understand the negative impact they have on other people.
