Warning Signs of a Collapsing Civilization

(a)    When the people of a nation overwhelmingly agree that the future of the nation will not be as great as its past then it has very serious problems.  In 2008 80% of Americans polled felt this way.

(b)    Rewarding Predators; When the Systems of Civilization, with emphasis on the economy, rewards predatory practices causing the victimization of millions then the scavengers and parasites move in to further harm the weakened victims then the nation is in a dangerous decline.  When bad behavior is rewarded, and lawful, honest, humanitarian values are punished or not rewarded then the nation is sinking.

(c)    Resource Wars; When a nation goes to war over resources then mismanagement and corruption has reached a dangerous level.

(d)    Resource Water; When potable water and irrigation water becomes scarce to the point of a steady increase in prices and a steady decline in availability then the nation is in very real trouble.

(e)    When the so called public servants use the problems of the nation to increase their political power and wealth then the nation is in the process of collapse.

(f)     When the government is determined by many other governments to be a threat to security war becomes more likely.  And in this nuclear age where powerful nuclear ready nations can get involved this increases the chance of nuclear exchange.  Just one bomb can devastate a nation’s economy.  

(g)    When power brokers start to continuously invest overseas more than in their country of origin then that country has the smell of death on it.

(h)    When hundreds of thousands of citizens are imprisoned because of their addictions while power brokers are not imprisoned, or worse, pardoned for crimes relating to their addictions then the nation is becoming a self destructive empire.

(i)     When ignorance is considered cool and considered preferable in public servants over intelligence then the nation will reach collapse. 

(j)     When intellectuals are considered elitists then this shows a fatal decline in education.  A fatal decline in education leads to a potentially fatal condition of the nation.

(k)    When the consumables of a nation are poisoned the collapse of the nation is eminent.  Rome poisoned its people with lead.  They became so mentally deficient as a result that they couldn’t possibly maintain a super power of that day.   The US for example, is poisoning its people with literally hundreds of toxic chemicals in the air, water, food, hormones injected into the food, sugars, corn syrups, pharmaceuticals, on and on.  The US is fat and sick.  And it has a dangerous health-care, sick-care process.

(l)     When public servants use fear to manipulate the citizens then the nation’s government has already failed and the problem must be corrected.  The nation needs a government that does not manipulate the citizen’s fears.  It can be said that a nation isn’t worth keeping if its government manipulates its people’s fears so power brokers can profit and gain more power.

(m)  If your nation uses secret prisons or ships prisoners overseas (extraordinary rendition) outside and beyond the safeguards of rights and conventions then your nation is in the process of collapse.

(n)    If your nation has a paramilitary force not answerable to the people then the nation is in the process of collapse.  Such is the case in the US where soldiers of fortune (corporate privatized military forces or mercenaries) are routinely used to replace the US military and US intelligence agencies. 

(o)    If your government is permitted to continue surveillance on the people of the nation without legal oversight and checks and balances then your nation is in the process of collapse.  Such is now the case within the US, China, Russia, etc.

(p)    If the wealth of your nation has been and continues to be transferred offshore then this indicates the process of collapse has begun.  This is very common within the US where wealth is placed in offshore bank accounts to avoid taxation thus weakening the economy.

(q)    If the industrial power of your nation has been seriously depleted then this indicates the process or potential for collapse.  This is major problem within the US.  The industrial jobs are equivalent to a low not seen since 1942, as of 2008.

(r)     If the bulk of the news media is under the control of private power brokers serving the agenda of power brokers and their corporations then collapse is likely.  When the people can no longer receive honest and complete information then they can no longer vote for the person most likely to represent them.  Instead they vote for people most likely to represent the power brokers who own the media, and serve their agenda.

(s)    If the votes of leaders have been questioned and those investigating the alleged voting fraud are fired and replaced then the nation is in process of collapse.  At the very least democracy is no longer honest.

(t)     When a nation is dependent on an enemy for its industrial products then collapse is likely.  The US is dependent upon China for its industrial products to feed its economy.

(u)    When a nation is dependent on an enemy for its energy then it is dependent on an enemy for its sovereignty and at risk of collapse.

(v)    Autocracies are replacing democracies.  An autocracy exists when citizens are free to interact as they choose with most systems of their civilization but are definitely not permitted to promote political or government change.  Russia and China are examples of autocracies.  George W. Bush and his Republican Congress gave America its first taste of Autocracy Light.  Citizens can do or say anything but the politicians are still going to do whatever they want anyway.  This autocracy light is democracy with virtually zero representation. 

(w)   When the majority of people no longer trust the government or the news media collapse is eminent.

(x)    When the stock market experiences major rises and falls in trading and stock value the economy is convulsing.  This is a clear sign of economic instability and possible failure.

(y)    When unemployment, job security, personal debt and other factors lead to a major drop in consumerism capitalism is set to fail.  When the economy fails all other Systems of Civilization will follow.

(z)    The warning signs of a nation in the collapse process occurs over several years through a slow deterioration.  However, the actual collapse occurs overnight.  It occurs abruptly with about 75% of the population completely shocked and unprepared.

(aa) When our children kill each other in the streets and in their schools then this indicates just how primal and predatory the society has become.

(bb) When Communist China owns over $2 trillion in American debt and calls in that debt the US is on the brink of collapse.  Other nations will not loan money to a nation that defaults on a loan.

(cc) When a nation has $55 trillion in national debt then it is well on its way to collapse.  The US has this much national debt at the time I wrote this. 

(dd) When a power broker can steal $50 billion and is confined to his $7 million penthouse pending trial while a black boy can steal a hub cap and goes directly to jail then the civilization has lost all sense of justice and will eventually collapse.

(ee) When any civilization promotes and rewards Primal Behaviors it is only a matter of time before it collapses.

And this is only a few of the warning signs of a collapsing civilization.
