Power To Evolve

Civilizations fall because of a series of causes and effects.  This causality is most often the following.

Power brokers within the civilization suffer from a conflict of interest that is legally permitted within a flawed civilization.  They are willing to place the satisfaction of their personal Primal Desires above the health and welfare of their nation.  Tribalism takes a back seat to personal social ranking, mating potential, resources/money, etc.  This covers the motive.

The power brokers then find the opportunity to sell out their nation.  This involves public servants who are also very eager to satisfy their Primal Desires.  There is no shortage of selfish self centered people willing to justify anything for the satisfaction of their own personal addictions.  Public servants will find a way to justify to themselves and their constituents, the damage they will cause.   They will be so convincing, being the salesmen that they are, that people will believe they to will gain from this action.

Once the public servants can sell the idea they then have the means to do it.  Do what?  What ever it is the power broker wants.  Once the people buy into the promises the game is over.  Motive, opportunity and means are there.

A nation may suffer from this causality a number of times before it becomes so weak it is on the brink of collapse.  But once on the brink it only takes one natural or man-made disaster to push the civilization beyond its breaking point. 

The US is almost there.  In fact it is much closer than the vast majority of people realize.  But the sky hasn’t fallen yet, there is hope.  There most definately is a solution.

A nation that is very strong internally will not collapse.  It will weather the storms.  It will find solutions to droughts, pestilence, and hostile foreign armies.  It is always internal power brokers who sew the internal seeds of destruction in all tales of collapse.
